When you suffer from tooth loss, tooth implants are recommended over dentures. Although dentures have long been a staple of restoration dentistry, many find their temporary nature to be problematic. Poorly adhering pastes and sliding dentures can leave you feeling insecure about your smile, but with dental implants, you can regain your confidence. Eating, laughing, and talking becomes easy and enjoyable again.

Your Implant can be completed in Five to Six visits
Appointment 1:
Approximately 3 months + after the extraction of a tooth, the site can be evaluated for the closest thing to a new tooth dentistry has to offer! Dr. Levingart will begin your evaluation with a 3-D scan at our Manhattan location on Central Park West. This scan will give us the necessary information to evaluate whether an implant is the best restoration for you based on the quality and amount of bone in the area. A bone graft or sinus lift may be discussed at this appointment to achieve the requirements of an implant. If the site is well healed and ready for an implant, impressions will be taken for the planning of the implant.
Appointment 2:
After carefully planning your implant, Dr. Levingart is ready to insert the screw into the bone. The area will be thoroughly numb with local anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide may be offered to allow the most comfortable experience. The implant will be carefully placed by the doctor with bone grafting material and closed tightly with sutures.
Appointment 3:
This is a three-week follow-up appointment to ensure healing is going well!
Appointment 4:
Three months after the placement of the screw, you will be ready for the uncovering of the implant and preparation for the custom abutment and crown for the area! A 3D scan will be taken again to evaluate healing. Impressions will be taken. A healing screw will be placed into the uncovered implant for further healing while the final abutment is being made in the lab.
Appointment 5:
The custom abutment is placed and prepared. A shade for the crown is chosen with our patient and sent to the lab for final fabrication.
Appointment 6:
The implant crown is fit, occlusion is checked, and a final x-ray is taken to evaluate the ideal fit.
